I posted on this way back in the spring when I first
found this site. Within 2 months of purchase(new),
my orange 98 had faded from Nascar orange to barely
orange, except for the tank, which only lost 50%
of its color. The problem is lousy QC on the clearcoat.
Only solution is to buff out the faded paint, or,
repaint and then clear with a high quality polyurethane,
such as Deltron or Imron. This is not cheap.
Good luck. If it bothers you too much, rattle can it
flat black like 68-83 AMF Harleys end up.
